“from every mountainside, let freedom ring”
Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are holidays we typically celebrate with family and friends. Whether at the lake, the beach, the mountains or in your own home town, we gather to celebrate our freedom and thank those in the military who have sacrificed and fought for our freedom. I am sharing some really easy ways to celebrate our holiday and add inspiration from Old Glory with a little red, white and blue in your place settings!
the pieces and parts
For instance, there are so many ways to use paper plates and napkins to create a fun, layered look for any event. This is so easy and inexpensive and can be changed from breakfast to lunch to dinner over a long holiday weekend. It does not require you to buy specific pieces of dinner ware and / or glass ware that you will only use on a few occasions. It is also easy to load up and carry anywhere. I am working with just a few items to design these place settings.
getting the look
Now that you have the basics, you are ready to create an expressive design that celebrates Memorial Day and the Fourth of July! Finish the details by adding a galvanized bucket with some cold drinks and a beautiful summer fern and you have place setting that is easy to achieve and looks great! Using versatile items that you can have on hand and can use for multiple table designs is a great way to minimize, not only cost, but also the space required to store all items when you are not using. For another fun, summer table setting, see my post showing a place setting for a summer brunch.
